Coaches, please encourage a fun and learning atmosphere and not a win-at-all-cost environment.  Remember, this league is for everyone, not all children understand every facet of the game, if you have questions, please ask.  This is a program we are proud of and look forward to improving each year.

**Each head coach will be responsible for contacting his/her assistant coach for any help in drafting.  
**Please do not rely on board members or any other coaches for assistance.
**Please, no children allowed during the draft.  
**Coaches will be notified and given information the prior week for the draft including roster and  draft rules.  Practice equipment will also be passed out at this time.

Draft Rules

  1. Head coach and assistant coach will automatically have their child(ren) placed on their respective team.
  2. Order of picks will be determined by random drawing of numbers.  Number 1 will have first pick and Number 2 second pick and so on until end of round.  Last pick of each round gets 2 picks and then order is reversed until all players are selected.
  3. Coaches are not allowed to pass on their picks and must choose a player in their turn.  The only exception will occur at the end of the draft if the number of players is unequal or if we need to place a sponsored player on a team.
  4. No trading of players is allowed EXCEPT by special circumstances and with the approval of the Clear Lake Youth Athletic League Board.
  5. Youngest grade will be drafted first until all players have been placed on a team.  If an unequal amount of players are left, they will be placed into next grade until all players are then drafted.

Note: Discussions on any new or existing rules and any questions about the league will also take place at this time.
